Patricia M. Leary - Of Counsel

Education: Lanchester University, Coventry, England (B.A. (hons), 1974),

Patricia Leary has recently associated with The Deckard Law Firm bringing with her over 30 years of civil litigation experience. She started practice at a San Jose based defense civil litigation firm and then, in 1986, joined Nelson, Perlov & Lee in Los Altos where she has practiced for 26 years. Ms. Leary has handled many complex, multiparty.  litigation matters involving construction defects, land subsidence and products liability.

She also has extensive experience in premises liability, legal malpractice and governmental tort liability cases. In her construction defects practice, Ms. Leary has represented contractors in a wide range of trades including framing, roofing, foundations, underground, electrical, plumbing and waterproofing. She has represented numerous suppliers and manufacturers of building products.

In addition to her heavy litigation practice, Ms. Leary has also advised a variety of commercial clients regarding pre-claim and pre-litigation issues. She endeavors to provide her clients with changes in the law and information regarding pending legislation that may affect their businesses. Because of her wealth of experience and her reputation as a trustworthy and fair minded litigator, Ms. Leary is frequently asked to serve as an arbitrator.
